Clan Gathering 2011 25th Anniversary

Programme

Thursday
7 pm – GAA football match at Ilen Rovers pitch.
9 pm – Traditional session in the Algiers Inn.


Friday
2.30 pm – Trip to Heir Island on Mystic Waters with Captain Vincent O’ Driscoll. Walk on island and talk by local genealogist at John and Patricia Moore’s, Heir Island Sailing School.
7.30 pm – Registration of Clan members and heritage talk in Dún Na Séad castle by local historian.
9.00 pm – Official opening of Clan Gathering with present and past chieftains.
9.30 pm – Ceol agus Craic on the Square Baltimore.

Saturday
11 am – Trip to Cape Clear. On arrival the Clan will be met by Mary O’ Driscoll who will give you a talk on the history of the island. The Clan, accompanied by Eamon Lankford, will visit the museum where Eamon will launch the 'O’Driscoll Heritage Exhibition'. After this lunch will take place in Ciaran Danny Mike's followed by music for the afternoon. Ferry departs at 4 pm.
4 pm – Traditional music in the Square by Baltimore Beginners.
7 pm – Baltimore Drama Group will re-enact 'The Sack of Baltimore' which took place in 1631.
8.30 pm – Introduction to céili dancing at Fr. Cashman Community Hall.
9.30 pm – Music on the Square.

Sunday
10.15 am – Mass celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Rath by Father Martin O’ Driscoll.
12 pm – Ferry to Sherkin Island. Visit to the Abbey followed by a gathering at The Jolly Roger.
1 pm – Traditional music and dancing on the Square by Ceoltais Ceoltóirí Éireann.
3 to 5 pm – Music by Ronnie and Friends. Kids entertainment – face painting, balloon making, mime act etc.
2.30 to 5 pm – Open day at Baltimore Lifeboat Station.
3.30 pm – Inauguration of the new O’ Driscoll Clan Chieftain
